Garden - Garlic

Many years ago a colleague gave me some ecological heads of garlic. I split them in cloves, planted them in my garden and ever since we have been well provided with garlic.

Every year I take the finest heads, split them in cloves and plant them in September / early October. The ones on the picture was planted late September. They are visible now and ready to grow up big next year.
In spring some of the harvested and dried garlic heads begin to look less appetizing and they have begun to bud. I separate in cloves and plant them very close in a cluster. That gives you fresh garlic very early (also the following year if you don't use it all) and you can use the top as well.
