Man woman house garden

The pattern for this dish cloth is  from a cross stitch embroidery. I have actually embroidered it three times, but in different colors. Used as wedding gifts and this  one for a 70th birthday. The pattern on the dish cloth is from the house beam.

knitted in cotton

Cast on 60 stitches and knit 4 rows and then pattern.

Begin and end all uneven rows with 2 k
Begin and end all even rows with 2 p

Pattern:


1.row: knit
2.row: 3 p, 1 k, 4 p, 2 k, 2 p, 2 k
3.row: 2 p, 2 k, 2 p, 2 k, 5 p, 1 k
4.row: 1 p, 2 k, 1 p, 2 k, 4 p, 2 k, 2 p
5.row: 6 p, 1 k, 2 p, 3 k, 2 p
6.row: 2 k, 3 p, 2 k, 1 p, 6 k
7.row: 2 k, 2 p, 4 k, 2 p, 1 k, 2 p, 1 k
8.row: 1 p, 5 k, 2 p, 2 k, 2 p, 2 k
9.row: 2 p, 2 k, 2 p, 4 k, 1 p, 3 k

10.row: purl

When the cloth has the desired length, end with 4 rows knit and bind off.

You have to remember that all uneven rows start in the right side of the diagram and X=purl and ▢= knit. All equal rows start in the left side of the diagram and X=knit and ▢=purl.
