knitted in cotton

This dish cloth is knitted with residue yarn. Notice that all uneven rows (right side)
starts and ends with 1 k, and then you knit the pattern * * in between.
All even rows (wrong side) starts and ends with 1 p, and then you knit the pattern * * in between


Cast on 62 stitches and knit 4 rows ribbing:


1.row ribbing: 1 k,* 2 k, 2 p * 1 k
2.row ribbing: 1 p, *2 k, 2 p * 1 p
3.row ribbing: as row 1
4.row ribbing: as row 2


Change color and knit pattern:.


1.row: 1 k * slip 2 stitches knit-wise, 2 k * 1 k
(When you slip stitches knit-wise the thread shall be behind the stitches)
2.row: 1 p * 2 p, slip 2 stitches purl-wise* 1 p
(When you slip stitches purl-wise the thread shall be in front of the stitches)
3.row: knit
4.row: 1 p  *2 p, 2 k * 1 p
5.row: 1 k * 2 p, 2 k * 1 k
6.row: 1 p  *2 p, 2 k * 1 p


Change color.


7.row: 1 k * 2 k, slip 2 stitches knit-wise * 1 k
(When you slip stitches knit-wise the thread shall be behind the stitches)
8.row: 1 p * slip 2 stitches purl-wise, 2 p * 1 p
(When you slip stitches purl-wise the thread shall be in front of the stitches)
9.row: knit
10.row: 1 p * 2 k, 2 p * 1 p
11.row: 1 k * 2 k, 2 p * 1 k
12.row: 1 p * 2 k, 2 p* 1 p


Change color and begin the pattern again (not the  ribbing which is only knit in the beginning
and end of the cloth)

When the cloth has the desired length you knit 4 rows ribbing and bind off.
