The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey

Inspector Allan Grant has fallen through a trapdoor and is hospitalized and bored beyond belief.  Martha (actress) visits him and to cheer him up she finds and gives him prints of various portraits. Grant is occupied by looking at faces and finding out which type of person it is. optaget af at kunne se på ansigtet hvilke type menneske det er. He is especially intrigued by the portrait of Richard III, and  doesn't think he looks like a person responsible for the murder of two children. He starts reading history to find a solution to the murder puzzle.
Again a  well written novel in the series with many funny phrases and descriptions, as this one when Mrs. Tinker left the ward: "When she had gone creaking away, in a shoes-and-corset concerto,"
An enjoyable read.
